The name open endedness comes from a concept in artificial life research: open-ended evolution, where a system continues to produce novel and increasingly complex forms without converging on a final state. I think the best thinking works the same way.
Most of what appears here is somewhere between a first draft and a final one. That's intentional. I'm more interested in showing the trajectory of an idea than in presenting it fully formed.
